I am not including any Christmas adverts in this week’s selection as we will have a festive round up of the good, the bad and the ugly very soon. But in the meantime, wrap your peepers around five of my faves from around the world this week.

Playstation – Star Wars Battlefront 2

I don’t play video games, but I do love Star Wars, and this live action advert for Star Wars Battlefront II perfectly captures the spirit of youthful imagination that made a generation fall in love with the originals way back in the 70s and 80s.

If I knew how to play and had any spare time to myself aside from writing and looking after two kids, I’d be asking for this for Christmas from my dear, dear Husband.

Julep – Throw Anything at Me

Speaking of Husbands, and Christmas, I’m going to make him indoors watch this wonderful spot from Julep, which takes a quirky look at the lives of women and all that society throws at us, on any given day.

WeTransfer – The Bunt Machine

“WTF is a bunt?” you’re thinking. Do I roll it up and smoke it? Nope. Actually, a bunt is a sneaky shot in baseball, when the batter merely lets the ball hit his bat and it drops to the ground.

It sounds like a weird way for WeTransfer to publicise their services, but this is a deliciously well put together spot, with clever editing and an entertaining story.

Polar + Disaster Girl

Confused about meme culture? Don’t worry Grandad, here comes BETC Paris to take on the mystery of ‘Disaster Girl’ in new work for Polar+, a brand-new Canal+ TV channel dedicated exclusively to thrillers.

Pornhub Toys – Sex Instruments

Wait a minute, while we’re on the subject of husbands and possible Christmas presents, here’s the new spot for innovative porn site Pornhub’s line of pleasure toys.

It combines two of my favourite things – experimental electonica and orgasms – into one highly entertaining spot that goes some way to being NSFW.
