“Hollywood’s current allergy to originality has led to a spike in sequels to films from decades past, wherein the studios insist on taking the geriatric stars of the original film out of mothballs and hurling them headlong into a new franchise instalment. We have seen this happen to Harrison Ford, Harrison Ford and even Harrison Ford.

This last week, two not-so-new contenders have thrown their hats back in the ring. Linda Hamilton has signed on for a new Terminator film, 33 years since the first (The Terminator, 1984) and 26 years since her most recent (Terminator 2: Judgement Day, 1991); and Jamie Lee Curtis will be appearing in the next Halloween movie – 40 years after appearing in the original film (Halloween, 1978) and 20 years since her last (Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, 1998).”
