Hello everyone! Did you hear the one about the talking dog and Cristian Ronaldo standing in his pants? Well come over here, I’ve got some things to show you…namely, the Top 5 Ads that tickled us this week.
Absolut – Equal Love
I love this ad. I can’t believe that here we are, in the year of our Lord 2017, when humankind is facing some of the biggest challenges like climate change, water shortage, famine, the threat of nuclear war, people really care what other people do with their genitals? This ad throws the brands weight behind ‘Equal Love’, but in a beautifully shot, epic dance, where kissing is contagious, regardless of race, colour, sex or age.
Heineken 0.0 – Ode to Openess
Speaking of openess, Heineken have launched a beer with zero percent alcohol with an Ode to Openess. That’s right, not mid-strength. Zero. Nada. Zilch. No alcohol at all. So all you Aussie tough-nuts who go to the local RSL to sink schooners of piss with your hard-drinking mates after the footie, well…you can still have a few of these and drive home, all safe and legal.
Old Spice – Alpha Dawg
Wait…what? Why am I watching a talking dawg, wearing shades, riding a motorcycle, and dragging a piece of ham? Old Spice still smells like a gathering of Grandfathers on a night on the pull, but their advertising is going a long way to try and change that perception in the younger generation (and their moms). Weird madness that is pretty funny for the brand.
Altice – Ronaldo
I totally disagree with the objectification of men in this ad. A woman snaps a sneaky pic of him in his underwear, and posts it to social media for the world to enjoy. Disgusting.
Jokes. It’s Cristian Ronaldo. Look at that body. Look. At. It.
Nice to see an ad for us ladies for a change! Um…i think it’s selling high-speed internet, or something…I couldn’t tell. Lost my concentration when staring at those pecs.
VW Golf GTE – Button
Playing with the notion of power in a fun, dramatic way, and one that evokes many of the great movies of the past including Star Wars, James Bond, Indiana Jones and more.
Superb stuff from Volkswagen.
