This is Gold: Adam West, the greatest Batman who ever lived

Illustrations by Harry Gold.
Actor Adam West, whose portrayal in the 1960s of a lighter-version of Batman, a caped-crusader in tights, campy in the right ways with its “Wham” and “Pow” illustrations that popped into fight scenes, died last week.
For a generation, he was the original and the best, helping define a character that would go on to become a cultural icon of modern times.
For this, we salute you, Dear Sir.
